Citrix® CCEA 4.0, 3.0 and XP Information and Requirements

The Citrix® Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA) certification is for anyone desiring to reach beyond the Citrix Certified® Administrator (CCA) certification and become an effective administrator, architect and supporter of multiple Citrix® Access Suite products.

While the CCA is a certification proving one can support a Presentation Server farm, the CCEA goes beyond that, proving the capabilities of an administrator/architect to build, test, rollout and support a Presentation Server farm and other Access Suite products.

The CCEA does not quite delve into the full Citrix® architect realm. For that title, one would want to research the Citrix® Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) certification.

Good candidates for the CCEA are systems administrators, system engineers, network administrators, security administrators and independent consultants who desire to prove their knowledge and skill building, testing, rolling out and supporting multiple Access Suite products.

The follow paragraphs describe how to obtain the various CCEAs, from the latest and greatest 4.0 to the legendary XP.

CCEA for Citrix® Access Suite 4.0 (expected late Q2 of 2006)

The CCEA for Citrix® Access Suite 4.0 can be obtained by completing the CTX-1455AW Access Suite 4.0: Common Management Platform Administration eLearning course and passing the assessment given at the conclusion of the course, passing all three CCA 4.0 exams, which include 1Y0-256 Citrix® Presentation Server: Administration, 1Y0-306 Citrix® Access Gateway 4.2 with Advanced Access Control and 1Y0-326 Citrix® Password Manager 4.0: Administration, and finally, passing the 1Y0-258 Citrix® Presentation Server 4.0: Support and 1Y0-456 Citrix® Access Suite: Build/Test exams.

The successful CCEA for Citrix® Access Suite 4.0 candidate should have at least 6 months experience with each of the following:

Supporting an existing implementation of a Presentation Server 4.0 farm and should have a solid knowledge of Presentation Server 4.0 including applied and architectural concepts, installing and managing, configuring farm settings, configuring ICA® settings, policies, published applications and content, deploying applications, load management, printing, web access to published applications and content, and securing access to published applications and content.

Supporting an existing implementation of Password Manager 4.0 and should have a solid knowledge of Password Manager 4.0 including deployment, implementation, the central store, agent management, the Password Manager Console, licensing, application definition, and functionality.

Supporting an existing implementation of Access Gateway 4.2 with Advanced Access Control (both the appliance and software) and should have a solid knowledge of Access Gateway 4.2 with Advanced Access Control including installation (both appliance and software), configuring resources, configuring endpoint analysis, configuring logon points, defining policies (both appliance and software) and configuring access server farm settings.

Maintaining and managing a Presentation Server 4.0 environment, maintaining data integrity, troubleshooting a Presentation Server 4.0 environment and optimizing a Presentation Server 4.0 environment.

CCEA for Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0

The CCEA for Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0 can be obtained by passing the 1Y0-223 Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0: Administration exam, the 1Y0-251 Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0: Management and Maintenance for the Enterprise and 1Y0-252 Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0: Troubleshooting Enterprise Environments, completing either the CTX-1300BW Secure Access Manager 2.2: Introduction eLearning course or the CTX-1320BW Password Manager 2.5: Introduction eLearning course and passing the assessment given at the conclusion of the course, and last, passing either the 1Y0-722 Citrix® MetaFrame® Secure Access Manager 2.2: Administration exam or the 1Y0-973 Citrix® MetaFrame® Password Manager 2.5: Administration exam, depending on which track you opted for.

The successful CCEA for Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0 candidate should have at least 6 months experience with each of the following:

Supporting an existing implementation of a MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0 farm and should have a solid knowledge of the product including components and features, licensing, web security and deployments, configuring farm properties, configuring ICA® sessions, configuring policies, publishing and deploying applications and content, load management, printing, monitoring and managing, using the Access Management Console and licensing.

Managing, maintaining and monitoring a MetaFrame® Presentation Server farm, optimizing MetaFrame® Presentation Server in an enterprise environment, implementing change control, maintaining server and data integrity, integrating applications and scaling a MetaFrame® Presentation server environment.

Troubleshooting methodology, troubleshooting MetaFrame® Presentation Server and farm communication, load management, clients, printing, the Web Interface and Secure Gateway.

And six months experience with the content in either of the following two paragraphs:

Designing a MetaFrame® Secure Access Manager 2.2 infrastructure and implementation, configuring content delivery agents, installing, maintaining, securing and troubleshooting MetaFrame® Secure Access Manager 2.2, integrating MetaFrame® Secure Access Manager 2.2 with MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0 environments, implementing Citrix® Index Server and implementing MetaFrame® Secure Access Manager 2.2 updates.

MetaFrame® Password Manager 2.5 architecture, agent installation, console installation, integrating MetaFrame® Password Manager 2.5 with MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0 environments, password management, agent management and enterprise credential storage.

CCEA for Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server

The CCEA for Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server can be obtained by passing the 1Y0-222 Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server, Feature Release 3: Administration exam, the 1Y0-913 Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server, Enterprise Edition, Feature Release 3: Administration exam, the 1Y0-962 Citrix® MetaFrame® XP: Securing and Deploying Applications over the Web exam and the 1Y0-992 Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server, Feature Release 3: Deployment and Support exam, completing either the CTX-1300BW Citrix® MetaFrame® Secure Access Manager 2.2: Introduction eLearning course or the CTX-1320BW Citrix® MetaFrame® Password Manager 2.5: Introduction eLearning course and passing the assessment given at the end of the course, and last, passing either the 1Y0-722 Citrix® MetaFrame® Secure Access Manager 2.2: Administration exam or the 1Y0-973 Citrix® MetaFrame® Password Manager 2.5: Administration exam, depending on which track you opted for.

The successful CCEA for Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server candidate should have at least 6 months experience with each of the following:

Supporting an existing implementation of a Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server farm and should have a solid knowledgeable of the product including administration, Citrix® technologies, installation and setup, the Feature Release 3 additions and enhancements, the ICA® Client including Program Neighborhood, web connectivity including Web Interface and Secure Gateway, load management, security, published applications, printing, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Using Installation Manager, packaging applications, troubleshooting Installation Manager, using the Management Console for MetaFrame® Presentation Server, using Resource Manager, system and application monitoring, troubleshooting Resource Manager, using and configuring Resource Manager remote administrative alerts and knowledge of Feature Release 3 updates for Installation Manager and Resource Manager.

Web and security features, architecture and communication flow, planning application deployment over the web, installing the Web Interface for MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server and configuring it for the enterprise, securing application deployment over the web and troubleshooting the Web Interface and Secure Gateway.

Deploying and supporting Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server, building and testing a Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server environment, piloting a Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server deployment, managing and troubleshooting a Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Server farm and optimizing Citrix® MetaFrame® XP Presentation Servers in a farm.

And six months experience with the content in either of the following two paragraphs:
